Cricket is often considered a game of talent and strategy, but sometimes luck also plays a big role on the field. Wickets like run outs, nervous nineties are often the result of bad luck. One such incident was seen in T20 cricket, where the Rwandan team made a record which would not be wrong to call shameful.
One innings, seven run outs
In the T20 match played between Rwanda and Malawi in the year 2022, the Rwandan team batted first. From the beginning, the team’s luck did not support them – the opening batsmen were run out and then it seemed as if the series was not going to stop. One by one seven batsmen fell prey to run outs, even the number 10 player also returned to the pavilion in the same way.
This is the first time in T20 history that so many run outs were seen in a single innings. Earlier, a maximum of five run outs were recorded in any match.
A stain despite the win
The surprising thing was that despite so many run outs, Rwanda won the match. But this record has become a stain on their name which may be impossible to erase. Now the question is whether any other team will break this record or will Rwanda remain number 1 in this list forever.
